We custom built our Insert Car from the ground up with a few main objectives, be as tough as a tractor, smooth as a trophy truck, and most importantly help productions, cast, and crews get some of the most difficult and dangerous shots in the business done right.
We adopted technology and fabrication techniques from across the custom truck industry. Ultimately, we overbuilt a RAM 5500 4x4 Crew Cab luxury monster Insert Car, we call The Beast. With a variety of configurations we think of it as the ultimate swiss army knife of camera cars. With front, back, and top platforms there are options to shoot hand held or rigged, high or low, forward or aft. It rides soft enough for hand-held still photographers, yet can transform into a mega-hauler capable of towing a Process Trailer while carrying a Telescopic Crane. The 4WD, Active Air-Ride system, allows us to take on all terrains in any seasons: dirt, snow, sand, or field. The 4-door Crew Cab accommodates Driver + 4 passengers, so working from the climate controlled interior is always an option. Powered by an on-board custom, sound attenuated, 25kW / 200Amp, single-phase/ 3-phase selectable generator there's plenty of juice to light.
